Cost: painting before an end-of-tenancy inspection
The contractor's price and an amount potentially owed by a tenant are different questions. Price identified surfaces and repairs with product references and an achievable date. No local average, end-of-tenancy discount or standard urgency surcharge is established here.

Price defined work
Measure affected surfaces and separate preparation, painting and cleaning. List exclusions. For small jobs compare the total and any attendance fee rather than an isolated square-metre rate.
Compare touching-up and repainting a surface
For each option request expected appearance and cost. A smaller touch-up does not guarantee an invisible match; a whole-wall repaint must reflect the agreed need. Add protection, access and urgency only when expressly priced.
Separate quotes and tenant responsibility
A quote estimates work; it does not determine liability. Do not calculate a deposit deduction from a universal paint lifespan or renovation package. Have contested items and their justification assessed. State applicable taxes and approval for additional work.

Frequently asked questions
Must I repaint everything when leaving?
Not simply because you leave. Ordinary wear alone does not require tenant repainting; review the records and disputed work.
Does an invoice guarantee deposit repayment?
No. It documents a service, not resolution of every tenancy issue.
Must the colour be white?
Do not assume so. Confirm the agreed colour and result.
Does the painter decide who pays?
The quote describes work and does not resolve a landlord-tenant dispute.
