Cost: interior decorating advice
Compare fees and equipment purchases separately. An oral appointment, a mood board with references and ordering support are different services. No local average hourly rate or per-room package is established here.

Hours or package
For hourly work request a time estimate, charged tasks and approval before overruns. For packages define rooms, documents and revisions. Compare the expected total service rather than one hour against a full dossier.
Separate advice and buying
Show separate allowances for fees and furniture, textiles, lights or paint. Identify samples, transport, assembly and taxes. A recommended shopping budget is not money already included in fees.
Price extensions
Specify extra visits, new options and ordering support. Ask what happens when you buy gradually and an item is discontinued. Do not assume remote advice always costs less.
