Read the labour scope
A fitting price should state operations and number of openings. Ask whether survey, removal and disposal are included. Keep window purchase separate to avoid comparing fitting alone with a full supply-and-fit offer.
Add materials and access equipment
Check supply of consumables, fixings, trim and planned supports. Price special handling or access equipment separately. A labour line does not establish that all materials are included.
Allow for undefined work
Ask how extra work will be proposed if damaged substrates are uncovered. Identify work left to another trade and its limits. Do not automatically deduct a grant or reduced VAT from the total.
