Quote: automatic irrigation
E.g.: underground irrigation, controller

Start with a plan of the areas actually needing irrigation: lawn, beds, hedges or vegetables. Identify planting, exposure, access and water source. The proposal should describe zones, equipment and the supply checks needed before designing the network.
Define each zone’s purpose
Mark plants to serve and areas excluded from watering. Ask why sprinklers or drip lines are proposed at each location and how zones are arranged. A zone count based only on area does not describe the project.
Assess available water
Identify tap or tank, existing equipment and available measurements. Have usable pressure and flow assessed for design. For a tank, clarify pumping, filtration and operation when empty. Specify connection protection requirements; a claim of tank compatibility does not describe the installation.
Agree installation and settings
Routing must account for existing utilities and planting. Agree surfaces opened and restored, tests and settings at handover. Ask how to change programmes, stop the system and recognise faults. Connected controls do not replace checks of actual operation.
Plan for cold weather
Hunter describes different drainage methods and warns about compressed-air hazards. Have a professional specify winterisation and restart for your components rather than improvising a compressor blow-out.
Indicative prices in Luxembourg
On quotation
Total garden area is not enough to compare prices. Offers should distinguish irrigated zones, pipe lengths, distribution equipment and controls. Add connection work, reinstatement and the commissioning, servicing and winterisation actually included.
Subsidies and grants
No grant is deducted from the budget shown here. If a quote mentions support, request the exact scheme and confirmation of your eligibility before including it in financing.
Frequently asked questions
How many zones for 500 m²?
Have them defined from the plan, planting and supply; area alone is insufficient.
Can a rainwater tank be used?
Have pumping, filtration, supply and empty-tank behaviour assessed together.
Can an established garden be fitted?
Access, roots and utilities need surveying to plan routing and reinstatement.
Does automation guarantee correct watering?
It does not replace design, settings or checks; establish your remaining tasks.
