Compare area and thickness together
Specify area, intended thickness, estimated volume and mortar reference. A square-metre price without composition is insufficient. Clarify treatment of level differences found during surveying.
Separate supply, preparation and logistics
Identify removal, substrate, insulation, protection, joints, material, installation and access. Price actual constraints instead of assuming fixed generic surcharges. Show tasks allocated to other contractors.
Include work before the finish
Check necessary surface preparation, moisture checks, correction of defects and handover records. Distinguish firm prices, allowances and extras requiring agreement. Heating and final floor covering are included only if described.
