Compare equivalent frames
Request geometry and assumptions: spans, grid, supports and loads. Separate design, fabrication, connections and transport. An offer with internal columns does not provide the same clear space as one without them.
Assemble the building budget
Separate groundworks and foundations, lifting and erection, protection, roofing, cladding, insulation and doors. Identify excluded junctions and finishes. Establish whether site preparation and strengthening of existing work are priced or await investigation.
Manage unresolved scope
List investigations, options, taxes, payment terms and approval of extras. Link the programme to design approval and prepared supports. Do not apply a new-build square-metre rate to local strengthening of an existing roof.
