Quote: artistic metalwork and restoration
E.g.: wrought iron window security grille, bespoke metal table or light fitting

Decorative grille, console or historic element: distinguish new creation from conservation. Describe function as well as style. Elaborate patterns prove neither entirely handmade production nor security performance; specify these in the order.
Approve design and techniques
Provide reference photos, location dimensions and use. Request a dimensioned sketch, finish sample and description of forged, cut, cast or standard parts, joints and planned handwork. Approve before fabrication; historical inspiration does not guarantee a faithful replica.
Define functions beyond decoration
For furniture, state loads, stability, edges, floor and handling. For grilles, define opening, locking and necessary access. Decorative appearance is not certified burglary resistance. An artistic element used as a guard must be designed for that function.
Assess before restoring
Request a condition record, parts to preserve and proposed interventions. Before stripping, welding or replacement, check material, old coatings and compatible methods. For historic work, document original parts and approve trials; complete stripping or galvanising is not a universal recipe.
Adapt protection and care
AQC links coating performance to preparation and substrate. Request a system appropriate to metal, exposure and joints, with repairs after fitting. Specify cleaning and intervention criteria; wax or a fixed renewal interval will not suit every piece.
Check heritage status before work
INPA provides a support process for protected buildings, involving application before work and supervision. Check whether your item and interventions qualify. This is not automatic support for every old object or funding promised for new furniture.
Indicative prices in Luxembourg
On quotation
Design, techniques, existing condition, finishes and fitting determine the scope. Request staged pricing and comparable options. Restoration is not automatically cheaper than reproduction; their purposes and scope differ.
Subsidies and grants
No grant is deducted from the budget shown here. If a quote mentions support, request the exact scheme and confirmation of your eligibility before including it in financing.
