Quote: façade render and textured finishes
E.g.: mineral render, floated or scraped render, fine floated finish

A textured finish does not by itself describe a product or installation method. For a quote, distinguish new masonry, existing render refurbishment and finishing over insulation. Identify the substrate and system before choosing grain or colour.
Identify product and use
Buildwise distinguishes mineral and organic renders among others. Request product references and accepted substrates. A finish over insulation must suit the ETICS system; masonry render is not an automatic substitute.
Do not equate monocouche with one pass
Weber describes monocouche renders applied in one or two passes depending on the situation. Specify the method for your substrate. The name does not prove a single application or eliminate preparation.
Define preparation before appearance
Assess adhesion, old paint, irregularities, cracks and moisture. Define removal, repair and retention areas and assessment limits. A scraped texture does not resolve an incompatible substrate or unexplained cracking.
Approve a finish sample
Agree grain, texture, colour and comparison conditions after drying. Clarify appearance at repairs and junctions. Integral colour does not replace system checks or guarantee freedom from future deterioration.
Plan interfaces and application
Describe corners, reveals, sills, plinth and material transitions. Specify protection and actual product application requirements. Do not replace instructions with one supposedly universal temperature range.
Plan appropriate upkeep
Request references, reservations and maintenance instructions. Periodic water-repellent treatment is not a default for every render. Check usefulness and compatibility before treatment or painting.
Indicative prices in Luxembourg
On quotation
Compare a defined service: preparation, removal, planned layers, finish and opening details. A finish-only price is not complete renewal. Ask about included access and protection too.
Subsidies and grants
No grant is deducted from the budget shown here. If a quote mentions support, request the exact scheme and confirmation of your eligibility before including it in financing.
Frequently asked questions
Does monocouche mean a single pass?
No. Application depends on product, substrate and finish.
Can old render be covered?
Only after condition and compatibility checks.
Does texture hide every defect?
Appearance does not replace suitable preparation and assessment.
Is periodic water-repellent treatment necessary?
Do not assume so. Request upkeep for the actual system.
Does render alone provide thermal insulation?
Distinguish a finish from an insulation system. Any performance claim needs a documented build-up.
