Quote: photovoltaic self-consumption control
E.g.: going from 30% to 70% self-consumption with smart control

State whether PV already exists, its equipment references and available generation and consumption data. List movable uses such as charging, hot water or other compatible equipment. Specify requirements such as vehicle departure time. The aim is useful solar consumption, not extra consumption to improve a percentage.
Use time profiles and service needs
Compare generation and consumption over matching periods. Identify genuinely flexible loads and comfort constraints. Klima-Agence describes self-consumption as local use of generation; control benefits depend on the situation, not a standard household percentage.
Distinguish self-consumption from demand coverage
The locally used share of solar generation and the solar-covered share of consumption have different denominators. A small output may be fully consumed while covering little demand. Ask for both indicators, their period and treatment of storage and losses.
Confirm every device’s compatibility
A surplus controller, a load-shedding device limiting demand and an energy-management system serve different functions. The Ohmpilot manual illustrates heat control with manufacturer-specific measurement and configuration. Check models, protocols, safety and retained functions; this example does not prove universal compatibility.
Define priorities and fallback
Specify priority loads, when grid top-up is allowed and manual override. Have no sunshine, communication failure and an unavailable device tested. Heating and hot-water control must preserve operating requirements defined by manufacturer and installer.
Check procedures when changing mode
When switching from full export to self-consumption, contact the network operator and review the existing contract. Creos provides a mode-change procedure; a software alteration alone does not replace required formalities.

On quotation
Compare assessment, measurement, device control, wiring, setup and follow-up. Separate control retrofit from a complete PV installation. Neither self-consumption rate nor payback is guaranteed without defined profiles, tariffs and measurement boundaries.
Subsidies and grants
No grant is deducted from the budget shown here. If a quote mentions support, request the exact scheme and confirmation of your eligibility before including it in financing.
Frequently asked questions
Should I target the highest possible percentage?
Not through unnecessary consumption. Compare useful service, net benefit and demand coverage.
Does load shedding automatically use solar surplus?
No. Demand limiting and surplus use are different functions; ask what is provided.
Will control work without Internet?
It depends on equipment and configuration. Ask about local operation, limits and outage behaviour.
Is a battery mandatory?
No. Assess control and storage separately; no demand-coverage rate is universal.
