Quote: furniture makeover
E.g.: E.g.: wardrobe makeover with a greyed patina

A makeover deliberately changes appearance. Before choosing colour, assess usability and decide what remains: visible timber, top, interior and hardware. Where historical interest exists, assess conservation before transformation.
Assess furniture and existing finish
Report movement, loose veneer, swollen board, wax and known treatments. Separate necessary repairs from decoration. An old finish may have documentary value; CCI recommends preserving it where possible before stripping.
Specify preparation
Bare wood, varnish, wax, melamine and laminate may need different preparation. V33 distinguishes substrates in its kitchen furniture paint instructions; this does not make that product suitable for every item. Request the proposed system and any necessary adhesion or appearance trial. Do not assume light sanding allows direct painting over wax.
Approve a sample
Specify colour, sheen, texture and coverage. Patina can mean different effects: use a visible reference rather than a vague aged-style promise. Agree inside faces, undersides, edges and deliberately untreated areas. Screen colours cannot guarantee the actual result.
Check new hardware
Measure hole centres, face thickness and screw access. Specify filling old holes, adaptations and adjustment of doors or drawers. A new handle can affect passage or adjacent doors; check use as well as looks.
Distinguish delivery and normal use
Ask about handling, cleaning and curing times for the system. Plan transport that avoids marking the finish and protect adjacent areas during on-site work. Touch-dry furniture is not automatically ready for water, rubbing or loads.

On quotation
Base the offer on actual condition, treated surfaces and a finish sample. Handle changes, painting and repair with decoration are different interventions; no average price or universal saving is established here.
Subsidies and grants
No grant is deducted from the budget shown here. If a quote mentions support, request the exact scheme and confirmation of your eligibility before including it in financing.
