Roof insulation: preparing a Klimabonus application

Roof and upper floor beneath an unheated attic are separate elements in the official procedure. Define thermal envelope, areas and attic use. New covering alone does not establish eligible energy renovation; assess individual items rather than assume the whole bill qualifies.

Guichet.lu distinguishes energy-advice and single-element routes. The latter still requires an approved company or specified advisor involvement. Include other intended works when establishing the appropriate route.

Confirm eligible building age, performance, material and evidence. Particular conditions apply to some insulation products and roof windows in heated attics. Do not select thickness by material name alone; validate the proposed construction and applicable reference.

Under the described regime, obtain agreement in principle before relevant work, then request payment with supporting records. Confirm procedures and deadlines for your file, especially older invoices or decisions. Submission is not approval.

Klima-Agence advises; Guichet.lu describes the application through the Guichet unique des aides au logement. Advice does not guarantee payment. The official page announces optional prefinancing from 1 January 2027 under conditions, not a deduction already available on every invoice.

Ask the municipality about additional aid and its own procedure. Do not assume a generic municipal percentage. Track schemes, contacts, decisions, evidence and payments to avoid counting the same aid twice.
