Record collection, reference, dimensions, thickness, finish and intended use. Marble effect is a decor, not natural stone; wood effect alone establishes neither price nor resistance. Clarify quantities and replacement pieces from the same batch. Do not select polished or textured surfaces from photographs alone.

Request setting-out, visible cuts, doorways and transitions between rooms. Weber’s large-format guidance distinguishes preparation, handling and the appropriate bonding method. It does not establish a universal surcharge for large tiles. Price the resources needed for the project rather than assume a standard daily output.

Tiling over existing tiles requires assessment of adhesion, defects, compatibility and available height. Primer does not resolve those questions. Where both are suitable, compare prepared overlay with removal, disposal and reinstatement. Do not omit preparation merely because a screed is new.

For anhydrite, Weber explains that elapsed time does not establish acceptable moisture before tiling. Specify checks and readiness conditions for the chosen system. Jointing and use timings must follow the actual products. A tight programme does not justify skipping a stage; one fixed duration cannot cover every adhesive.

List skirting, thresholds, planned joints, service penetrations, door adjustments and appliance access. In areas exposed to water, distinguish tiling from the protection or waterproofing system required for the project. Identify who handles each junction and the tiler’s scope boundary.

Compare quantities, supply, delivery, removal, preparation, bonding, joints, edges, waste and cleaning. Separate fixed amounts, allowances and exclusions, and clarify taxes and approval of work discovered after removal. High price does not establish excessive margin; low price does not prove poor installation.
