A béton ciré appearance does not itself define a technique or thickness. Request system reference, layers and permitted floor applications before choosing an installer. The continuous appearance must remain compatible with substrate joints and constraints.
Describe the system rather than its name
Identify decorative mortar, primer, any preparation and protection. Request a current sheet permitting floor use in the intended room. A wall proposal does not establish suitability for traffic, furniture and floor cleaning.
Assess substrate and movement
The consulted Classic sheet, dated 2021, requires compatible substrates and movement joints; it even excludes certain levelling layers. This illustrates why universal levelling or elimination of all joints cannot be promised across ranges. Have the current system confirmed.
Separate decoration and waterproofing
Marius Aurenti distinguishes surface protection from prior waterproofing in showers. Request complete floor, corner, penetration and drain details, plus slip considerations. Varnish or a product merely described as water protection does not automatically replace the necessary assembly.
Approve a sample and transitions
Inspect a representative sample with the intended colour, texture and protection under room lighting. Agree acceptable material effects, transitions and repair possibilities. Cracking after work needs assessment; it is not automatically normal patina.
Plan use and care
Request walkability, furniture and water-use conditions for the products and site. For heated floors, confirm compatibility and procedure. Obtain approved cleaning, protection and restoration methods without assuming invisible repairs.
