Choose a wall-to-ceiling profile in the context of the whole room: height, openings, furniture and light. View a sample in position before approval. A ceiling rose or lighting cornice introduces separate requirements for fixture support, power supply and maintenance.
Approve the profile in place
Hold a sample at the intended height and view it from normal positions. Record obstacles, non-square corners, curves, high doors and curtain tracks. Agree ends and junctions. No profile width is automatically right for a particular room height.
Have the base accepted
Assess flatness, old finish and loose areas before gluing or fixing. Orac's FAQ calls for preparation and substrate-specific adhesive selection. Request the method for your profile and wall without applying one brand's guidance to all materials. A moulding does not address the cause of a moving crack.
Design complete lighting
Choose a profile intended for the use, then coordinate strip, support, power supply, controls and replacement access. Orac refers to LED supplier requirements for position, fixing and ventilation. A hollow profile alone does not establish a suitable assembly; check the lighting effect on a sample.
Separate rose and fixture support
Specify diameter, centring and cable passage. Identify separately the support carrying the light fitting and who connects it. Do not treat the decorative element as a designed suspension fixing.
Include visible finishing
Agree joints between lengths, preparation and any painting. Ask whether profiles are finished or merely primed. Check appearance under intended light and access to technical components. Keep references and colours for future repair.
